Classes

Since 2015, GPA has offered a variety of classes including kids and teen Triple Threat classes and a variety of adult classes focusing on singing, acting, dancing, scriptwriting, and more! Classes create opportunities for building performing skills outside of a production, fostering community in a small-group environment, and a fun night out with the whole family!

CLASS SCHEDULE

Kids & Teen Classes

 6–8yo Triple Threat | 6:00–7:15pm | Tori Corbo & Jordan Rocha

This class requires little to no previous theater experience! Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater style dance, singing, and acting while having fun! All will finish this class feeling more confident in their stage presence and theater tools.  

8–10yo Triple Threat | 6:00–7:15pm | Cynthia Summers & Josue Summers

This class requires little to no previous theater experience! Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater style dance, singing, and acting while building community with their peers. All will finish this class feeling more confident in their stage presence and theater tools.  

 

10–12yo Triple Threat | 6:00–7:15pm | Issac Holland & Alex Norris

This class requires little to no previous theater experience! Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater style dance, singing, and acting while building community with their peers. All will finish this class feeling more confident in their stage presence and theater tools.  

 

12–14yo Triple Threat | 7:30–8:45pm | Gabrielle James & Kevin Wold Jr.

This class requires little to no previous theater experience! Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater style dance, singing, and acting while building community with their peers.  All will finish this class feeling more confident in their stage presence and theater tools.  

 

14–17yo Triple Threat | 7:30–8:45pm | Issac Holland & Amber McClintock

This class requires little to no previous theater experience! Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater style dance, singing, and acting while building community with their peers. All will finish this class feeling more confident in their stage presence and theater tools. 

Adult Classes

18+ Beginner / Intermediate Singing | 6:00–7:15pm | Nicole Choate

This class requires little to no previous theater experience. Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater style singing while having fun! All will finish this class feeling more confident in their stage presence and theater tools.  

18+ Intermediate / Advanced Singing | 6:00–7:15pm | Alison Afshari

Advanced class will improve vocal technique and hone performance skills. Singers will apply what is being taught through exercises to songs from musicals. Expression, emotion, and overall confidence will be a key focus in bringing these songs to life! 

18+ Hip Hop| 6:00-7:15pm| Kevin Wold Jr.

This class requires little or no previous dance experience. Hip Hop is a structured form of street dance often found in music videos, designed to teach coordination, strength, quickness, agility and endurance from a basis of freedom movement and is often accompanied with popular R&B and jazz music. Students will learn the fundamentals of the Hip Hop style using different dance techniques and combinations. 

18+ Improv | 7:30–8:45pm | Matthew Ervien

This class requires little or no previous acting experience. Students will grow in their improv ability through games and exercises! Practicing improv allows performers to grow in their ability to work as a team, active listening skills, creativity, and confidence.

18+ MVP (Stage Management, Prop & Costume Design) | 7:30–8:45pm | Teighlor Benjamin & Michelle Wentroble

This class focuses on the fundamentals of both management and design with a concentration on props, costumes, and stage management. All students will gain hands-on experience by designing and managing for a mock production. This class requires no previous technical theatre experience.

18+ Dance Technique & Audition Prep | 7:30–8:45pm | Bridgette Fargason

This class requires little or no previous dance experience. Students will learn the fundamentals of dance technique that are tools in a performers tool belt to take to any dance audition.  Also, students will go through regular auditions in class to teach them how to apply the fundamentals quickly to approach their auditions with confidence and charisma.

Registration Fee: $55 for one 5-week class session

Please note: Class fees cover an entire 5-week session and do not repeat weekly.


Adult Discounts

  • First Class: $55 for one 5-week class session

  • Second Class: $50 for each class session

Family Discounts

  • First Member: $55 for one 5-week class session

  • Second Member: $50 for each class session in family

  • Third Member: $45 for each class session in family

  • Fourth+ Member: $40 for each class session in family

Family discounts will automatically apply when classes are purchased during the same transaction.
